Nominator's project description

Professor Kelly is an international authority in the field of anthropology. His outstanding research in the fields of archaeology, ethnography and ethnology has contributed substantially to our understanding of hunter-gatherer societies. He has conducted ethnographic fieldwork not only in the United States but also with part-time hunter-gatherers in Madagascar and assisted in an ethnohistory project in Micronesia. During his stay in Germany, he will continue his work on cultural evolution.
